New art in progress – behind the scenes

After having spent an age away from painting (well – not really – it’s only ten days or so) I am overjoyed to be finally posting some new works, not yet seen anywhere else. This new selection features much smaller works – allowing my work to become more accessible for people who don’t want a big statement piece of art dominating their space. These more manageable pieces will be framed and are still painted with the usual mixture of expression and attention to detail. Just because they are smaller doesn’t mean they are any less awesome!

Perhaps the most exciting progression is with the mirror. I am always considering new ways to express my style and moving onto household objects is the next logical step. I have experimented with vases and place-mats already but the mirror idea is genius. The finished piece is going to look sick when it is dry. I can’t wait to show this off at the Art Market in Spitalfields in November. The plan is to create six pieces all different in colour. As I have masked off a couple of areas you can still use it as a functioning mirror as well as proudly boasting an original and unique work of art.

As always your feedback would be most welcomed….

Wahoo! Thanks Trudy. I just took the masking tape off it before the paint was too sticky and it looks mental. I’m really excited by these, mind you, they are not cheap to make as I have to buy the complete mirror and that’s before anything else!!!. Drip Art chairs next me thinks – LOL. Really hope they catch on

the mirrors will go down well at Spitalfields – let’s see what the public have to say once they’ve seen and touched them! Chairs! LOL :-)

Wow! Thankyou so much! I can’t wait to get the thing dry and assembled and photographed. I am even considering getting a hairdryer on it…
