Fairground is painted in a number of shades of acrylic paint (I lost count!) and some bonding solution and measures 160cm x 100cm x 36mm. He was hand stretched by me over a solid, kiln-dried hardwood frame and stapled on the reverse. This piece of modern art is ready to hang.
I have deliberately painted this piece in two halves. Towards the right side the purple tones are more prominent and the shaping of each movement is larger than the left side. A simple white application takes the eye across the painting where you are met with more complex figuration – resulting in circles and arcs as well as graded blends of bold primary colours that have been morphed and mixed on the surface of the canvas. Although I prefer it in landscape mode you can hang this in virtually any orientation.
