I really like the feeling of movement in this piece – not some rushed maelstrom of anarchic frenzy but a calming and direct form of expression. Perhaps the way the arcs dart off in different directions stops you from settling in one particular place, this is good as it makes your eye move around the painting. Sometimes I like to just let my creativity take a more fluid form and break away from my drip paintings and their very staccato shapes. This kind of painting is no less challenging though – it’s very easy to lose the piece and can be very tricky to know when to stop. Thank goodness I stopped when I did as I reckon I have just enough room for the main shapes to breathe.
