Lorenzo Abstract Painting
Subtle lines, serene colours and a gentle palette give Lorenzo a very easy going feel

Lorenzo was painted with industrial quality enamel and gloss paints. He measures 48 inches x 48 inches and is painted onto triple primed tight weave canvas (on the floor which is where I paint most of my art) then stretched over a kiln dried 38mm wooden frame.

Oh come on, colours are joyous, light, playful and happy – do you need an excuse to paint like that? Reminds me of packet of jelly babies, but then I am a little odd?

There is a lot of action and momentum in this piece. The feeling from standing away from it is one of happiness – this is in part down to the strong use of bold colours and defined stroke work. A whimsical lightness to the opposing dripped areas create a dance-like movement on the canvas that never fails to pull you in for a closer look. There is some very intricate detailing in this painting which has taken a lot of effort to get right.

I paint lots of small, fine details into each painting – something that has become a recognizable sign of my work. I believe in putting effort into the small things – to miss that out is a sin. I want you to get involved with your painting – always finding something new to see, something fresh to look at. The painting will not fade, sag or wash off. Enamel paints are very hard wearing.
