Marty is painted onto a 38mm gallery block canvas and measures 100cm x 100cm. He was created using industrial gloss enamel paints of various thinned consistencies and a series of overlaying blended acrylic paints of a complimentary palette.
I can remember that the day was light and sunny so I decided to create a painting using colours from the summer that I enjoy – lots of yellows and reds along with some more subtle oranges and darker hues to balance them out. Makes me think of hazy evening barbeques! The dripped accents in opposing corners add a little gravity to the piece which compliments the bold stroke work really well. There’s lots of fine detail in this painting too.
