Odin Modern Art
Simple and muted colours give way to a balanced and ineresting drip-style composition

Odin is painted onto a 38mm gallery block canvas and measures 100cm x 50cm. He was created using industrial gloss enamel paints of various thinned consistencies. Odin is one of those paintings I cannot easily figure out. I know that getting a decent photo of him was impossible due to the enamel gloss paints I used to create him (very shiny and reflective).

The limited base colour range has led to some very interesting shapes, textures and colours and although I would never normally use these neutral tones I feel that despite me not being able to get my head around what this makes me feel I really, really like it – and it puzzles me as to why? Like many of my drip paintings it looks easy to paint. You know, just slap it on and hey presto! Well, sorry to disappoint you, unless you know what you’re doing it will come out wrong. Have a go and you’ll see what I mean

Odin has some amazing paint textures and shapes. Click the images to see more.
