Breathe in and out once in a while
In a world full of deadlines and long working hours it’s all too easy to loose sight of the important things, like being able to stop once in a while or find that critical 20 minutes in your day when you can just be. No emails, no phones, no Facebook.
We let the pressures of our lives dictate our every move; seldom realizing the harm that’s it’s causing to the self. So a little mindfulness is a powerful thing. The moment you take back the self and center it again. Time to reflect, re-position and readjust.
I’m terrible at keeping a consistent time when I can shut the world down. But I try. And I will keep trying because a worn out version of myself is useless to everyone around me – especially myself.
So being able to unplug and switch off is something that’s becoming more important as time goes by. Inevitably this will lead me down a creative path that’s different to the one I normally walk and in Paradise Found I can see that profoundly.
I won’t delve into the techniques of creation (as I would normally do); on this occasion I’ll continue to give you the underpinning of why this painting exists and let you decide if that context changes how you feel about it.
