Description
Two Turtle Doves
The second day of Christmas was painted during one of four live streaming events broadcast in November and December of 2020. This particular painting was created in the first one along with two others. You can see its creation on my 12 Days of Christmas live painting stream.
It features a deep, rich burgundy colour (or maroon if you prefer) and on to this base went two circular applications of paint. These were poured from baking dish onto the surface using two sweeps – hence why it’s my abstraction of Two Turtle Doves!
The painting measures 90cm x 80cm.
Finishing
The art work was hand stretched around a seasoned timber frame so that the painting goes all the way round the edges. It has a wonderful texture thanks to the way the paint layers are built up and it comes with full certification.
