Sit back and relax
Savannah is as carefree and relaxing as I have ever created. It’s gentle expressions and meandering focal points dissolve into a warm embrace of all things blue.
Gentle paint blending allows me to create subtle twists and turns and a vast array of tiny details and points of interest.
Depth and textures
The use of a limited colour palette always presents challenges so the ability to add one or two deep tones helps me get some grounding and depth to the painting.
Here it’s the black that pushes the painting backwards – creating a feeling of space between foreground and background. Whisps of metallic gold wander in to oppose the black and it’s this addition that really creates the tension between light and dark.
The painting is finished with a 2mm mount that’s set inside a laser-cut aluminium frame. This gets covered with a Plexiglass (acrylic) front (a high quality PVC alternative to glass). This can be removed if you wish.
