At Higher Altitude is a spin painting from my collection of small radial spin art.
It’s an unusual painting in a number of respects. For a start it’s not been painted from the outside in or from the centre out, as I have done with a number of the other spin works.
Instead it’s been constructed using paint located in other parts of the canvas and then, using a number of thinning agents in different quantities, spun out to get the desired effects.
The biggest challenge was stopping the black, pink and white arcs from touching each other. And to be honest I have no idea why I got so fixated on this but I was. I’m glad too because that beautiful light blue that separates them has made all the difference.
As far as the remaining colours go then the tiny tip of lime green you can see is my favourite bit because you have to look twice to notice it. I also love the red too as it adds a little warmth. There are a load of interesting parts to the painting even though it looks like a relatively simple composition. Believe it or not there are 9 colours at work here.
This painting is shipped ready to hang and, although I prefer it hung like a diamond you can hang it anyway you like. Worldwide shipping is available – costs are calculated at the checkout before you decide to buy. Any problems, drop me a mail.
