This is a real triumph and my personal favourite. It’s taken a few attempts to get it right but I gotta say I’m over the moon with how it’s come out.
This is down to the way in which the paints has been mixed and applied to begin with – using a new dispensing tray I have built. It allows me to combine colours at the canvas surface without them interfering or mixing with each other until I decide. Very neat!
The second triumph is that of application. Getting the right volume of paint in to the right area is very hit and miss and, even when you do get it right, can still be a nightmare. Here though, it was absolutely right.
Then there’s the consideration of how fast to spin, how long for and at what point after each paint application. Honestly, this whole spin art thing is a lot more complicated than it looks – especially if you’re trying to do something with it other than use it to churn out repetitive shite all day log like most artists do.
As far as radial paintings go then using orange and blue as the two main colours, I think, is quite brave, but adding red and purple as well is ether stupid or inspired – I’ll let you decide that one.
Either way though this reminds me of my old DC comic books I got as a kid. Superman, Spiderman and all the other superheroes – they would entertain me for hours on end. It takes me back a long way when I look at this.
This painting is shipped ready to hang and, although I prefer it hung like a diamond you can hang it anyway you like. Worldwide shipping is available – costs are calculated at the checkout before you decide to buy. Any problems, drop me a mail.
